Flip Out at Phoenix Games
Pinball has always been a popular American pastime with a rich history. At one time, pinball was banned as it was deemed to be a form of gambling and city officials felt that it was robbing children of hard earned money.
During this ban – which began in the late thirties and was lifted in the mid seventies – numerous machines were burned, smashed and thrown in rivers; nearly obliterating pinball from the face of the American landscape.
Then in the eighties, pinball machines fell under another threat: video games. Facing iconic titles such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders, pinball began to fade away again and became difficult to find. Some pinball manufacturing companies closed during this period.
Yet, despite the odds, pinball has proven that it’s here to stay and people young and old still enjoy the game today.
Phoenix Games offers a safe and fun environment where people can enjoy a few games of pinball. Furthermore, we strive to keep our machines cleaned, well lit, and fully functional.
So stop by and enjoy a favorite American pastime.
