The Last of the Arcade Gunslingers
At one time arcade games were just about everywhere. Restaurants, liquor stores, gas stations, even the local grocery market had them. But everyone knew that the best place to play games was the arcade because the video game arcade had the latest and the greatest games. In short, arcades were the kings of their day. A variety of players frequented the arcades. The casual gamer, who enjoyed a few games, socialized, and left. Then there were enthusiasts who spent countless hours playing and competing with friends. Last but not least, the elite player, the gunslinger who would roll into an arcade, consistently obliterate the local players’ scores and walk out leaving the crowd stunned, wondering, “How did they get so good?”
Alas, the old arcades of yesterday have vanished along with the various players who frequented them. We here at Phoenix Games dedicate this page to the legendary players of the past and honor new ones that rise from today’s gaming industry. These arcade gunslingers are truly a dying breed. The Rules of High Score Engagement
Taking down a high score is something we can respect. However, we don’t respect individuals who cheat to do it. The rules are simple, no cheating, no glitching or excessive point pressing. We honor and respect straight forward game play and skill. Once you have broken a high score, then call an employee over to verify it – WHILE YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE SCORE.
